The standard name of Krah pipe in our country is: high-density polyethylene double wall corrugated pipe structure wall B-type pipe. Because this pipe was originally developed and manufactured by the German Krah company, it is commonly known as Krah pipe in the world. Krah pipe is a new type of pipe with special-shaped structure. The product is made of high-density polyethylene resin (HDPE) as the raw material, PP or PE corrugated pipe as the auxiliary support pipe, and the high-density polyethylene large-diameter double wall corrugated pipe reinforcement produced by the hot double wall corrugated pipe molding process pipe. Krah pipe has the advantages of light weight, strong pressure bearing capacity, high interface quality, long life, corrosion resistance, and convenient construction. It is widely used in urban water supply, drainage, long-distance water delivery, and farmland irrigation and other projects. It is the main pipe material of choice for buried drainage systems.

Some time ago, a customer in Vietnam consulted about urban water supply and drainage pipes. We recommended hdpe pipe to the customer. Application of Krah pipe in municipal engineering

There are many types of pipes used in the drainage system, mainly as follows: HDPE double wall corrugated pipe pipe, HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe, glass steel pipe (FRP, FGP or GRT), ordinary cast iron pipe (IP), ductile iron pipe (DIP), steel pipe ( SP), prestressed reinforced concrete pipe (PCP) and steel cylinder concrete pipe (PCCP). Since each pipe has its own advantages and disadvantages, it has different applications in municipal engineering. But on the whole, HDPE double wall corrugated pipe pipe, HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe and prestressed reinforced concrete pipe (PCP) are more commonly used.


Application of Krah pipe in engineering

Prestressed reinforced concrete pipe (PCP) is widely used as a traditional drainage pipe in my country and has a long history. Prestressed reinforced concrete pipes (PCP) are widely recognized in the market because of their ease of manufacture, low cost and sufficient supply. However, due to the heavy weight of prestressed reinforced concrete pipes (PCP), construction is more inconvenient. Machinery is required for construction. At the same time, the prestressed reinforced concrete pipe (PCP) pipe section is short and has many joints, and the leakage of the pipe is also serious due to the influence of construction quality. With the progress of society and the development of technology, HDPE drainage pipes should be born. Compared with prestressed reinforced concrete pipes (PCP), HDPE drainage pipes have many advantages. HDPE drainage pipes are mainly divided into HDPE double-wall corrugated pipes and HDPE double wall corrugated pipe pipes according to different production processes, among which HDPE double wall corrugated pipe pipes are divided into A-type structure and B-type structure. But no matter what kind of HDPE drainage pipe has the advantages of convenient construction, good flexibility, good water conservancy conditions, corrosion resistance, aging resistance and wear resistance compared with prestressed reinforced concrete pipe (PCP). In particular, the B-type structural pipe in the HDPE double wall corrugated pipe pipe, that is, the Krah pipe, has the characteristics of high-quality pipe joints and a wide range of product diameters in addition to the above advantages. Compared with the HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe, Krah pipe changes the ordinary socket connection (or hot-melt shrinkage tape connection) into electric fusion welding connection, that is, the socket and socket of the Krah pipe are respectively provided with resistance wires, and through the resistance wires The heating effect makes the socket fully fused. This interface method not only realizes zero leakage at the pipe joint, but also completely integrates the entire pipe section, increases the flexibility of the pipe, and improves the safety and stability of the pipe.

HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe is limited by its own production process, and the rigidity of the ring after the pipe reaches a certain diameter cannot meet the requirements of engineering use, so HDPE steel belt reinforced spiral corrugated pipe has been produced. Since the ribs of this kind of pipe are steel strips, and the inner and outer sides of the steel strips are wrapped with polyethylene, the ring stiffness of HDPE steel strip reinforced spiral corrugated pipes is significantly higher than that of HDPE double-wall corrugated pipes. However, in view of the different shrinkage coefficients of steel strips and polyethylene at different temperatures, the use of HDPE steel strip reinforced spiral corrugated pipes is more obviously affected by temperature. Compared with the above two kinds of pipes, the caliber of the Krah pipe double wall corrugated pipe pipe also changes with the change of the pipe diameter. At the same time, in order to meet the requirements of different ring stiffness or special use requirements, the structural form of the pipe can also be flexible and changeable. Krah pipe not only has all the characteristics of HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe, but also has its own unique advantages, so Krah pipe is used more and more in engineering, and its application range is wider and wider.


Application of Krah pipe under special geological conditions

With the development of the economy and the progress of the society, the construction area is constantly expanding. Previously dry low-lying land and barren tidal flats have been effectively utilized, and various construction projects and various types of development zones can be seen everywhere. Due to the poor geology of these construction areas, the construction cost of municipal supporting facilities is very high, and many phenomena such as "impossible" even appear in some places. Coastal development zones are typical examples. Generally, the terrain in coastal areas is relatively low, but the groundwater level is generally high, and most of the groundwater is seawater, which brings great inconvenience to the laying of underground pipelines, especially the laying of drainage pipelines is particularly difficult. Drainage pipes have large diameters and are deeply buried. The pipe trenches required for construction are usually wide and deep. Due to the requirement of dry trench construction during construction, due to construction cost and safety considerations, pipe trenches are usually excavated at any time. Backfill immediately after paving and meeting the acceptance requirements. Even so, during construction, it is often encountered that the groundwater level cannot be lowered, or dangerous accidents such as collapse occur on both sides of the trench before the pipe is installed after the groundwater level drops. How to construct under the above harsh conditions is a difficult problem before each of us. The anti-corrosion requirements of the pipes are not only high, but also the quality of the project must be guaranteed under the premise of rapid construction. As we all know, the anti-corrosion performance of plastic pipes is much better than that of reinforced concrete pipes and metal pipes, and the weight of the pipe itself is small, and most of the pipes can be constructed without the help of machinery. The appearance of plastic pipe not only ensures that the pipe wall of the pipe is not corroded, but also provides the possibility of rapid construction of the pipe. As an outstanding representative of plastic pipes, Krah pipe not only has the general characteristics of plastic pipes but also has advantages that other plastic pipes cannot match. Since the Krah pipe is connected by electrofusion welding, the joint quality of the pipe is very high, and the flexibility of the welded pipe is also very good, so the pipe between the two inspection wells can be welded into one or two pipes on the ground and then lowered to In the trench, this not only ensures the construction quality, but also improves the construction speed. It can be said that Krah pipe is the best choice for drainage in coastal areas.

At the same time, in order to strictly control the quality of pipes, almost all manufacturers have relatively strict control over the raw materials of pipes, and raw materials that do not meet the requirements are resolutely not put into use. It is precisely because of the above two reasons that the production cost of Krah pipe is much higher than that of HDPE double-wall corrugated pipe, and unless necessary in actual engineering applications, the construction party will choose other cost-effective pipes instead.
