MPP Pipe Fittings
MPP pipe fittings, made from modified polypropylene (MPP) materials, are crucial components in modern pipeline systems. Known for their excellent high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and strong pressure resistance, these fittings are widely used in a variety of industries, including water supply, gas, chemical, and industrial sectors. This article explores the types, uses, materials, and specifications of MPP pipe fittings, highlighting their role in ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of pipeline systems.

MPP pipe fittings (Modified Polypropylene Pipe Fittings) are pipe connection parts made of modified polypropylene materials. MPP pipe fittings have excellent high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and strong pressure resistance, and are widely used in hot water, steam, gas, chemical, industrial pipelines and other fields. MPP pipe fittings are used in conjunction with MPP pipes through hot melt connection or other connection methods to form a complete pipeline system to ensure the stable transportation of fluids.

MPP pipe fittings (modified polypropylene pipe fittings) have excellent performance and are widely used in hot water, steam, gas, chemical, industrial and other pipeline systems. Common types and uses of MPP pipe fittings are as follows:

Common types

1. Elbow

Use: Change the flow direction of the pipeline. Common angles are 45°, 90°, and other customized angles.

Application: Used for steering connections of household, industrial, and agricultural pipelines.

2. Tee

Use: Used for branching or confluence of pipelines, usually one in and two out or two in and one out.

Application: used for water supply system, drainage system, and some industrial liquid pipelines for diversion or confluence.

3. Reducer

Purpose: connect pipes of different diameters to achieve transition connection.

Application: used in places where transition to different pipe diameters is required in the pipeline system, commonly used in water treatment, gas supply system, etc.

4. Coupling

Purpose: connect two sections of pipes of the same diameter.

Application: used for the extension of the pipeline system, especially when pipes of the same specifications need to be connected.

5. End Cap

Purpose: close the port of the pipeline and play a sealing role.

Application: used at the end of the pipeline to prevent leakage of substances, commonly used in water supply and drainage systems.

6. Flange

Purpose: provide detachable connection, often used for large-diameter pipes.

Application: suitable for the connection of large pipeline systems, especially when used in conjunction with metal pipes.

7. Threaded Adapter

Purpose: Connect the pipe to the equipment or pipe system with threaded interface.

Application: Used for threaded connection with valves, pumps, equipment, etc.

8. Plug

Purpose: Close the pipe opening or pipe end to prevent material leakage.

Application: Used for temporary or permanent plugging of the system, commonly used in the test or maintenance stage of pipeline installation.

Usage summary

MPP pipe fittings are widely used in the following fields:

Water supply system: used for connection and branching of water treatment, water supply and drainage pipes.

Gas system: suitable for urban natural gas pipelines and industrial gas transmission systems.

Chemical industry: strong corrosion resistance, suitable for chemical transmission pipelines.

Agricultural irrigation: used for connection of agricultural irrigation pipes to ensure smooth water flow.

Industrial transportation: suitable for transportation systems of hot water, steam, acid and alkali liquids, etc.

Product materials and specifications of MPP pipe fittings

1. Product materials

MPP pipe fittings are mainly made of modified polypropylene (MPP) material, which has excellent high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, pressure resistance and other characteristics, and is suitable for various harsh environmental conditions. MPP (Modified Polypropylene) is a high-performance material after polypropylene is modified, with the following characteristics:

High temperature resistance: MPP pipe fittings can withstand higher temperatures, usually working in the range of 90°C-110°C, suitable for the transportation of high-temperature fluids such as hot water and steam.

Strong corrosion resistance: Polypropylene material has strong corrosion resistance to most acid, alkali and salt solutions, and is suitable for pipeline systems in chemical, industrial and other fields.

Anti-ultraviolet ability: MPP pipe fittings can also be used for a long time in outdoor environments, are not easily affected by ultraviolet radiation, and have good anti-aging properties.

High strength and pressure resistance: MPP pipe fittings have high tensile strength and pressure resistance, and can operate stably in high-pressure pipeline systems.

2. Product specifications

The specifications of MPP pipe fittings vary according to different pipeline requirements and application scenarios, and are usually distinguished by the outer diameter (DN) and pressure level of the pipe. The following are common specification types:

Common pipeline specifications (DN):

Small-diameter pipe fittings: DN50, DN63, DN75, DN90, DN110

Applicable to small pipeline systems such as household water supply and irrigation.

Medium-diameter pipe fittings: DN125, DN160, DN200, DN250

Commonly used in urban water supply systems, industrial pipelines, agricultural irrigation, drainage systems, etc.

Large-diameter pipe fittings: DN315, DN400, DN500 and above

Applicable to large municipal projects, industrial pipelines, large agricultural or irrigation systems.

Pressure level

According to the pressure level of MPP pipe fittings, they can be divided into different categories. Commonly used pressure levels include:

PN10, PN16, PN20

These pressure levels are suitable for ordinary water supply, hot water pipelines and other systems.

Connection methods of pipe fittings

Hot-melt connection: MPP pipe fittings often use hot-melt connection, that is, by heating the pipe fitting interface and the pipe to melt and then join.

Socket connection: Suitable for small-diameter and medium-diameter pipe connections, simple and easy.

Flange connection: Suitable for large-diameter pipeline systems, providing a detachable connection method.

3. Other modified materials and special requirements

MPP pipe fittings can also use enhanced materials or add stabilizers according to different needs to improve their impact resistance, UV resistance, etc. For example:

Reinforced MPP pipe fittings: By adding reinforcing materials, the impact resistance and pressure resistance of the pipe fittings are improved.

UV-enhanced: Special anti-ultraviolet additives are added to enhance the weather resistance for long-term outdoor use.

MPP pipe fittings have been widely used in many fields for their high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, compressive strength and good UV resistance. They are particularly suitable for pipeline systems that require high temperature, corrosion resistance and long-term stable operation.
