1. Definition and function of PE drip irrigation tape

PE drip irrigation tape is a flat or round hose made of polyethylene (PE) material, with drippers or water outlets evenly distributed along the pipe, used for low-pressure irrigation. Its main function is to slowly penetrate into the roots of crops through low-flow water droplets, provide a uniform and stable water supply, thereby improving irrigation efficiency and reducing water waste.

(1) Water and energy saving

Directly supply water to the roots of crops, reduce evaporation losses, and save water by 30%-50%.

Operate at low pressure, save energy, and reduce the demand for water pumps and power equipment.

Perforated Drip Tape: Small holes are directly punched on the pipe wall, low cost, suitable for short-term irrigation.

High-pressure drip tape: Suitable for large areas of farmland, can be connected to water pumps to improve long-distance water transmission capacity.

(3) Classification by hole spacing

Fixed hole spacing drip tape: such as 10cm, 20cm, 30cm, etc., suitable for crops with specific row spacing.

Variable hole spacing drip tape: hole spacing can be customized to meet the needs of different crop planting.


4. Installation and use of PE drip tape

(1) Installation steps

1. Design the irrigation system: determine the layout of the water source, main pipeline, branch pipeline and drip tape.

2. Lay the drip tape: lay it along the crop row spacing, with the drip holes facing up or down (adjusted according to soil conditions).

3. Connect the drip tape: connect it to the main pipeline through the filter, control valve, and drip irrigation connector to ensure good sealing.

4. Trial run test: check the uniformity of water output and ensure that the drip holes are not blocked.

5. Adjust flow and water pressure: adjust irrigation time and water volume according to crop needs.

(2) Precautions for use

Clean the drip irrigation system regularly to prevent mud and algae from clogging the drip holes.

Avoid mechanical damage and be careful when harvesting or tilling.

Reasonably control the pressure to avoid excessive water pressure causing the drip tape to rupture or excessive flow changes in the drip holes.

Use with filtering equipment, such as mesh filters or gravel filters, to improve water quality and reduce clogging.
